you're lucky lau that you haven't went through the kind of ordeal most of us experienced in applying hospital job. even most primary and secondary hospitals (be private or government own particularly in our province) only accepts volunteer work, some accepts applicants just for manpower pooling and if there happens to be a vacancy there's this age limit requirement and so many others that left an entry level nurse hopeless to disqualification. Seems that our RN lic. and sincere intention work is not enough to get a real job. Pls. don't get me wrong but I'd like to correct it when you say that nurses opt to chose tertiary hosp. to have their clinical practice because magandang ilagay sa CV. I think that's not the idea of it. Most of the good clinical exposure and training could be found in a tertiary hospital, they offer better benefits and quite good compensation as compared to secondary or primary hosp. I think that's the usual mindset of a nurse who has some dream and goal to achieve.
Perhaps only those who have family to support, only those who self-support themselves, only those who are a bit aged when they realize that they wanted to be nurse, could truly understand where these disappointed nurses are coming from. Let's just continue hoping and praying for something good.... something better... if we don't get it day... perhaps tomorrow or the succeeding days. God Bless us all!
