my post is based on my experience at Trident. others may have different situations.

two things that must be brought to the nclex exam site: ATT and passport ---> without these two, you cannot sit for the nclex.

1. ATT - should be printed clearly and should not look like it was photocopied, otherwise the PV people will ask you to go to a nearby internet cafe to download and print your ATT. if you have the original ATT (in my case, it was in a yellow paper mailed to me by the CA BRN), so much the better.

2. passport - if you have the old edition (green passport), make sure you have your signature on it, which should match your electronic signature (PV will ask for your e-signature during the biometrics portion at the test site). if you have the new edition (maroon passport), do not look for your signature on it because it is only machine-readable. also, note that the names in your ATT and passport should match (first name, middle name, last name).

other things needed to bring to the nclex test site:

1. confirmation letter - this is just to show to the Trident guard that you are in the right place at the right day and time. some guards ask for this, some do not.

2. any ID - this is to be surrendered to the Trident guard at the building entrance, in exchange for a Trident ID. any ID will do; in my case, i used my review center ID.

other tips:

1. wear comfortable clothings. temperature at the testing room is quite cold, but tolerable. PV people will ask you to remove your jacket and place it in the assigned locker. PV people will also ask you to empty your pockets. i saw others who were not allowed to wear a watch while in the testing room. PV has no dress code, but just be professional enough to know what should and should not be worn at the test site.

2. you may bring food/water, and you may eat/drink while waiting in line. the exam may take a maximum of 6 hours, so be gastronomically prepared. however, the food and water are to be placed in the assigned locker when in the PV testing site already.

3. restrooms are inside the PV testing site. you may ask for a quick CR break before entering the testing room and during the exam proper.

4. you may bring your small notes/reviewers to read while waiting in line. i suggest to bring "legit" notes so as not to catch the attention of the PV people. the notes/reviewers will also be placed in the assigned locker after the biometrics portion.

5. if you have nothing else to do while waiting in line, just pray. it helps.

good luck and God bless you in your exam.
